Join DISCUS at the Texas State Fair!

From 2010-2014, we’re promoting our program with demonstrations, exhibits, and take-home experiments at our very own Texas State Fair booth. There is something for everyone to enjoy and experience the excitement of science!

From September 30th to October 11th, 2011, we’ll be manning a booth just inside the Pennsylvania-Lagow Pedestrian gate (on the southeast side of the fairgrounds; next to Gate 11), right next to the information booth. Here are just a few of the neat activities and exhibits that we’ll have available for fair-goers to experience:

• Density, gravity, and force tricks
• Chemistry and dry ice demonstrations
• Microscope viewings of microorganisms
• Features on famous minority and women scientists
• Features on 5E science lesson plans available free through the DISCUS website
• Take-home experiments, activities, and hand-outs for K-12 teachers and students of all ages
• Much more
